When asked if he would contest the next election from Worli, he responded, "If you say so, I will contest from Varanasi." This remark suggests that Thackeray is contemplating a future challenge against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Varanasi during the Lok Sabha elections. However, the question arises: is this a display of political confidence or a naive gamble stemming from inexperience?

Varanasi is not just any parliamentary seat; it has become a political fortress for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The electoral data from 2014 to 2024 indicates that Modi has not only won elections here but has also psychologically defeated the opposition. He first became an MLA from the prestigious Worli constituency in 2019, backed by the strength of the undivided Shiv Sena and BJP alliance. However, he also noted that dreaming of such a position within the BJP would be political suicide for Fadnavis, as the party leadership would not allow it. Uddhav's statement is significant in many ways; while he attacks the BJP, he also extends support to a BJP leader like Fadnavis. This indicates that the Thackeray family is still seeking new equations to maintain their relevance in national politics.
