This event is being led by Abhijit Dipke, the founder of the Cockroach People's Party (CJP), along with other activists advocating for educational reforms. Wangchuk was hospitalized after entering the 21st day of his hunger strike, which was aimed at demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Despite being in the hospital, he shared updates about his health on his official X handle and expressed his desire to join the protests at Parliament.

Meanwhile, tensions escalated as police used light baton charges to disperse thousands of protesters marching from Jantar Mantar. Saurabh Das, the chief spokesperson for CJP, mentioned that discussions with the government are ongoing, focusing on the need for improvements in the education system. The march has caused significant traffic disruptions due to heightened security measures in anticipation of the Parliament's monsoon session. Wangchuk's wife, Geetanjali Angmo, emphasized the necessity for peaceful protests and highlighted the importance of accountability in education.
