In a remarkable display of batting prowess, the Indian top order, including Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, and Ishan Kishan, combined with impressive bowling performances from Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel, led India to a historic 96-run victory over New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The captain and coach had faith in me, even when I doubted myself. This tournament was tough, but I appreciate how the team supported me,' he stated.


Despite a successful year leading up to the tournament, Abhishek struggled to maintain his form during the high-stakes competition. 'It was challenging for me because I had performed well throughout the year, but I couldn't replicate that in the big tournament. The team's faith in me was crucial. I felt emotional during the tournament and reached out to the coach and captain, who reassured me that I would help win crucial games. The crowd's support was invaluable, even in tough times,' he added.

In the aftermath of their T20 World Cup win, all-rounder Washington Sundar praised the support staff for their dedication throughout the tournament. Mystery spinner Varun Chakaravarthy, who took 14 wickets during the tournament, expressed his joy at winning consecutive titles. 'It feels amazing to win back-to-back trophies. I'm really happy for Abhishek, who performed well today. We often discussed our struggles, but now we've triumphed in the World Cup,' he said.
