Abhinav Bindra Celebrates India's Sporting Success
On Friday, renowned Indian shooter Abhinav Bindra expressed his admiration for the country's para-athletes, who achieved remarkable success at the Asian Para Games. Their performance marked India's best-ever showing at the event, securing a total of 114 medals, which included 30 gold, 35 silver, and 49 bronze, while finishing in fourth place overall.
During a press interaction at the KPMG Agrasar Bharat Manch 2025, Bindra congratulated the athletes for exceeding India's previous medal record at the continental competition. He stated, "It's truly remarkable what our para-athletes have accomplished. Their achievements have brought immense pride to India, and we have surpassed our all-time best at the Asian Para Games. Each of these athletes is an inspiration, and I extend my heartfelt congratulations to them all."
Reflections on Performance and Future Goals
Reflecting on the overall performance of the Indian contingent, the Olympic gold medalist noted that the campaign was characterized by both exceptional achievements and some setbacks, which he described as a natural aspect of sports. He remarked, "Overall, I believe we performed well. As always, there are highs and lows in sports, with some successes and some failures. However, that is the essence of sports—learning from experiences and striving for improvement in the future."
Bindra emphasized the importance for athletes to analyze their performances, pinpoint areas for enhancement, and apply those insights as they prepare for the upcoming Games in Los Angeles. He added, "Now that these games have concluded, it's crucial for athletes to reflect on what went well and what could have been improved, as this will aid in their preparation for the upcoming events in LA."
