Bindra Advocates for Educational Unity

On Thursday, Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra addressed the ongoing protests regarding NEET paper leaks at Delhi's Jantar Mantar. He emphasized the necessity for a robust education system, asserting that this issue transcends political affiliations. Bindra highlighted that a trustworthy, merit-based system is crucial for the future of India's youth.

"I have never seen myself as a political figure. However, I believe certain issues are universal, regardless of our political stance. Education is one such issue. A nation's worth is not solely measured by its economy or achievements but by the opportunities it provides to its youth. An education system that fosters confidence, rewards merit, and encourages curiosity is among a nation's greatest assets. I hope we can unite to enhance our education system, ensuring it remains a beacon of opportunity and innovation for future generations," Bindra expressed in a post on X.

Dhawan Calls for Patience and Trust

Former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan also spoke out during the NEET paper leak protests, urging patience and trust in the nation's institutions. He acknowledged the aspirations of the youth and emphasized the importance of understanding their dreams while maintaining faith in the government.

"Our youth represent the future of our nation. It's vital to recognize their ambitions, but we must also exercise patience during challenging times and trust in our institutions. I believe that every challenge can be met with patience. India has always progressed and will continue to do so," Dhawan stated in an Instagram post.

PM Modi Promises Quick Action

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded to the protests, stressing the significance of the youth's future. He announced the establishment of fast-track courts to ensure prompt and severe penalties for those implicated in the paper leaks. In a post on X, he declared that individuals compromising the future of the youth "will not be spared," and instructed relevant authorities to take necessary actions.

"Nothing is more crucial than the welfare and future of our youth! We have decided to establish fast-track courts to ensure swift and stringent punishment for those involved in paper leaks. I have directed the concerned authorities to take all necessary steps. This is part of our ongoing efforts to protect students' interests. Those who threaten the future of our youth will face consequences," PM Modi wrote.

Protests Persist in Delhi

Meanwhile, protests continued to unfold at Tolstoy Marg and Janpath in the capital, as students and activists rallied against the government over exam paper leaks and broader educational issues. Demonstrators voiced their discontent against the ruling party, the RSS, and the Delhi Police. As tensions rose, some protesters attempted to obstruct traffic, with reports of water bottles being thrown onto the road. Others lay down in the streets, causing significant traffic disruptions.
