AAP MP Sanjay Singh Alleges Land Scam Linked to Ayodhya Ram Temple
Sanjay Singh's Claims of Evidence Against Ayodhya Temple Land Scam
Sanjay Singh, a Member of Parliament from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has asserted that he possesses substantial evidence regarding an alleged land scam associated with the Ayodhya Ram Temple. He plans to present these documents to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) currently probing the alleged misappropriation of donations. Speaking on Thursday, Singh expressed his frustration, questioning why no action has been taken thus far, stating that it should have happened by now.
Concerns Over Trust Mismanagement
In a letter addressed to the SIT, Singh highlighted that the alleged embezzlement has hurt the faith of millions of devotees. He pointed out that the scams conducted by the trust managing the Ram Temple have deeply affected the beliefs of countless Hindus across the nation. Recently, names such as Champat Rai, Anil Mishra, Gopal Rao, and Tinnu Yadav have emerged in connection with a case involving the theft of crores from donation boxes. Singh emphasized that this is not a trivial matter, recalling previous instances of significant fraud involving land purchased in the name of Lord Ram, for which he has already provided evidence to both the administration and the media, yet no governmental action has been taken.
Allegations of Corruption in Land Purchases
Singh accused members of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust of engaging in corrupt practices during land acquisitions. He claimed that in 2021, Champat Rai, the trust's general secretary, purchased land valued at 2 crores for 18.5 crores from Sultan Ansari and Ravi Mohan Tiwari. Singh reported that he filed a complaint with the Ayodhya Kotwali police station regarding this issue, but no action has been taken to date. Similarly, land worth approximately 3 crores was bought for around 24 crores from Mahant Murli Das, and land valued at 9 crores was acquired for about 55.5 crores from Alok Bansal. Additionally, Singh mentioned that he possesses documents related to several other transactions that provide concrete evidence of corruption within the trust.
Calls for Accountability
Previously, Swami Prasad Maurya, president of the 'Apna Dal' party, criticized Champat Rai, noting that no FIR has been filed in this matter. He argued that any police investigation without an FIR is flawed. Given that the entire operation of the Ram Temple is under the supervision of Champat Rai, who is implicated in this incident, Maurya questioned whether Rai should not be held accountable. He challenged the Yogi government to take action against Champat Rai.
