AAP Leaders Criticize Raghav Chadha for Lack of Parliamentary Engagement

Internal Discontent Within AAP Over Raghav Chadha's Parliamentary Conduct

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has publicly rebuked its MP Raghav Chadha, accusing him of neglecting to address critical issues concerning the central government during parliamentary sessions, opting instead for what they term 'soft public relations'.

Saurabh Bharadwaj, the President of AAP in Delhi, claimed that Chadha has not aligned with the party's stance on significant matters and has refrained from participating in opposition walkouts on crucial topics.

"We are all dedicated supporters of Arvind Kejriwal. The central government is not interested in soft PR or discussing trivial matters like samosas at airport canteens when pressing issues are at hand," Bharadwaj stated in a video shared on X.

"You (Chadha) have not joined the opposition during walkouts in Parliament, nor have you raised concerns regarding Punjab, your constituency. You were abroad when former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was detained," he continued.

Anurag Dhanda, AAP's national media in-charge, also voiced his disapproval of Chadha, questioning his ability to advocate for the nation if he is intimidated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"In West Bengal, the right to vote is being compromised. When a motion against the Chief Election Commissioner was presented, you (Chadha) declined to endorse it," Dhanda remarked on X.

"In Parliament, we have limited speaking time, which should be utilized to address national concerns rather than trivial discussions about cheaper samosas at airport canteens," he added, emphasizing that Chadha has been reluctant to tackle significant issues in recent years.

These comments followed Chadha's earlier assertion that he was "silenced, not defeated," after being dismissed from his position as AAP's deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha.
