AAP Launches Nationwide Town Hall Series Against E20 Fuel Starting August 8

AAP's Initiative Against E20 Fuel

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) announced on Friday its plan to kick off a series of town hall meetings across the country starting August 8, aimed at addressing concerns regarding E20 fuel. The initiative seeks to engage with vehicle owners and gather public opinions on the issues related to ethanol-blended petrol.

During a press conference, AAP's Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh mentioned that the party had previously conducted a town hall in Delhi, which saw participation from approximately seven lakh individuals online from across the nation. He stated that the party intends to extend this campaign to various states, aiming to understand public concerns regarding E20 fuel (which consists of 80% petrol and 20% crop-based ethanol) and to raise awareness about the topic through public meetings. Singh also noted that Saurabh Bhardwaj, the head of AAP's Delhi unit, will coordinate this nationwide effort.

According to the party, the campaign will commence in West Bengal on August 8, followed by events in Gujarat and Haryana on August 9, Telangana on August 11, and Chhattisgarh on August 17. Singh emphasized that during these public gatherings, the party will encourage attendees to join their protests against E20 fuel. AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal has criticized the E20 fuel initiative, claiming it is being imposed on the public and negatively impacting vehicle performance.
