A Unique Wedding in Rajasthan: No Dowry, Just Love and a Car Gift
A Remarkable Wedding Story
You may have come across numerous stories about dowry-related issues, but a recent incident from Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, has taken a different turn. In this case, the groom's family did not demand any dowry; instead, the in-laws gifted their daughter-in-law a car worth 11 lakhs. They expressed their joy by stating that they welcomed their daughter into their home.
This heartwarming event took place in Buhana, a town in the Shekhawati region of Jhunjhunu district. After the wedding, the bride was presented with a luxurious car as a gift, while the couple only exchanged a symbolic one rupee and a coconut during the ceremony.
Setting an Example in Society
Following this wedding, the family of Ramkishan from Khandwa village has become a role model in their community. Ramkishan serves as a Sub-Inspector in the CRPF, and his only son, Ramveer, recently married Insha from Gohana village in Alwar. Insha is currently pursuing her second year of a Bachelor’s degree, while Ramveer is studying for his Master’s.
During the wedding, Insha's parents offered to provide dowry, but Ramkishan firmly declined, stating that their daughter was the only treasure they needed.
A Grand Gift for the Bride
After the wedding, Insha arrived at her new home in Khandwa village. During the traditional 'muh dikhai' ceremony, her in-laws, Ramkishan and Krishna Devi, surprised her with the keys to a car valued at 11 lakhs.
Insha was overjoyed, and her in-laws emphasized that they were bringing home a daughter, not just a daughter-in-law, promising to treat her with love and care. Upon her arrival, Insha felt welcomed and appreciated by her new family.
A Message to Society
Insha expressed her gratitude for being part of Ramkishan's family. The local MLA, Subhash Poonia, attended the wedding to congratulate the couple and highlighted the significance of Ramkishan's actions as a message to society. He stated that such gestures could help eradicate dowry-related customs, and when daughters-in-law are treated as daughters, positive changes will occur.
It is noteworthy that Jhunjhunu district is recognized for its commitment to girls' education, with many daughters excelling academically and serving in the armed forces. The district is known for contributing a significant number of soldiers to the military.
