All funds are transferred directly to the beneficiary’s Aadhaar-linked bank or post office account via the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, aimed at helping mothers afford nutritious food, essential healthcare, and other necessities for their newborns.


Eligibility Criteria for PMMVY

To qualify for benefits under PMMVY, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:


  • The woman must be at least 19 years old
  • The family’s annual income should not exceed ₹8 lakh
  • Women with an MNREGA job card or those receiving benefits from the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme are eligible
  • Applicants with an e-Shram card, BPL card, or a certified disability can also apply
  • Applications must be submitted within 270 days of the child's birth


It is crucial to apply on time, as missing the deadline may result in losing eligibility for the benefits.

The application process for PMMVY has been streamlined for better accessibility. Women can apply through either online or offline methods based on their preference.

Online Application:
Applicants can visit the official PMMVY website to submit their application by uploading necessary documents such as:

  • Bank or post office passbook
  • MCP (Mother and Child Protection) card


Offline Application:
For those who prefer offline registration, applications can be made at the nearest Anganwadi centre or government health facility. Separate forms are available for each payment, and staff at these centers assist with documentation and submission.


A dedicated helpline is also available to address any issues related to registration, payment delays, or document verification.
