Shahid Kapoor Kicks Off Filming for Season Two of Farzi
Exciting News for Farzi Fans
Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor has officially begun shooting for the eagerly awaited second season of the hit crime-thriller series, Farzi. This exciting update was revealed during an event hosted by Amazon Prime Video on Thursday, where the first look posters for the upcoming season were also unveiled.
During the Prime Video event, Kapoor made a dramatic entrance by breaking through a wall on stage, showered with fake currency notes.
Speaking to the audience, Kapoor shared his enthusiasm about returning to what he describes as his favorite show. He mentioned that he immediately connected with the new script and is thoroughly enjoying his time back on set.
Kapoor expressed, "This is one of my all-time favorite characters. I am thrilled that we are finally moving forward with the second season. The storyline feels like a natural evolution from the first season, and I appreciate how they have developed it organically, reminding me of everything that transpired previously. This kind of artistic continuity truly resonates with me." Directed by the talented duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, the new season is set to heighten the tension surrounding the counterfeiting narrative.
The inaugural season of Farzi, which debuted in 2023, marked Kapoor's first foray into digital streaming. It followed the journey of Sunny, a gifted small-time artist who becomes embroiled in the dangerous world of counterfeiting by creating flawless fake currency. His actions attract the attention of a determined and unconventional task force officer, portrayed by Vijay Sethupathi, who is committed to eliminating this threat. The cast also includes notable actors such as Raashii Khanna, Kay Kay Menon, Bhuvan Arora, Regina Cassandra, and Amol Palekar in significant roles.
In addition to Farzi, the Amazon Prime Video event showcased several new film projects, including Vvan; Nayyi Navelli featuring Yami Gautam; Kuku Ki Kundli with Bhuvan Bam and Wamiqa Gabbi; and VIBE, directed by and starring Kunal Kemmu alongside Preity Zinta, among others.
