Sandeep Kapoor's Journey with Oh Humnava

Sandeep Kapoor, portraying Arvind in the series Oh Humnava – Tum Dena Saath Mera, produced by Prateek Sharma and Parth Shah under Studio LSD, expressed his immediate affection for the show during its narration. He remarked, “From the very first brief, I was captivated by the storyline. It’s not only entertaining but also carries significant emotional depth.”

Discussing his character, Kapoor described Arvind as realistic and multi-dimensional. He stated, “This role resonated with me deeply, and I realized I had to be involved. As an actor, I seek roles that push my boundaries, and Arvind presented a chance to delve into new territory.”

Preparing for this role required considerable effort. He explained, “This marks my first portrayal of a father in the early stages of Alzheimer’s. While this character may forget names and relationships, he continues to experience love and emotions. The preparation needed to be intricate and precise. Some days he is disoriented, while on others, he is lucid; this inconsistency is crucial.” However, he noted that the clear guidance from the creative and direction team made the process smoother. “Their insights were instrumental in shaping this character,” he added.

Oh Humnava—Tum Dena Saath Mera explores intricate relationships and the theme of second chances. Kapoor shared, “For me, understanding his emotional struggles was key. This is a man deeply invested in his saree business. Although his memory is fading, his identity remains tied to his craft. Even if he forgets people, the moment he touches a saree, a part of him still recognizes who he once was.”

When asked how this character differs from his previous roles, he replied, “Past characters often have a clear understanding of their desires, while Arvind’s feelings are muddled; his love becomes perplexed, and familiarity feels distant. He grapples with memory loss, leading to fragmented emotions.”

“Moreover, his bond with his craft—the sarees—adds a beautiful dimension, as that aspect of him remains vibrant even if he forgets everything else,” he concluded.

This collaboration marks Kapoor's third project with Prateek and Parth, whom he considers family. “I am truly thankful to them for offering me another chance in Tum Dena Saath Mera,” Sandeep concluded.
