Delicious Summer Treat: Sugar-Free Mango Smoothie
During the summer months, mangoes are a popular choice due to their delightful taste and ability to provide both cooling effects and energy. To combat the heat and stay hydrated, many enjoy mango panna, juice, and smoothies. These options not only refresh but also help alleviate fatigue and weakness. Mango smoothies are particularly favored in hot weather. While sugar is often added to enhance the flavor, it's possible to create a delicious mango smoothie without any sugar. Here’s a simple recipe for making a sugar-free mango smoothie at home.
Ingredients for Sugar-Free Mango Smoothie
2 cups ripe mango
3/4 cup sago
1 cup cold milk
45 ice cubes
1 teaspoon honey
45 soaked almonds
1 pinch cardamom powder
2 tablespoons custard powder
1 tablespoon basil seeds
56 rose petals
Simple Method to Prepare Sugar-Free Mango Smoothie
Start by selecting two medium-sized ripe mangoes. You can use sweet varieties like Ratnagiri Hapus, Kesar, Dasheri, or Chaunsa. Wash the mangoes thoroughly, peel them, and cut them into small pieces. Ensure the mangoes are fully ripe to maintain the natural sweetness in the smoothie.
Next, pour one cup of cold milk into a blender along with the mango pieces. Blend until smooth. If there are any mango fibers, strain them out. Remove 45 teaspoons of milk and heat the remaining milk in a pan. Add 2 tablespoons of custard powder to the warm milk and cook for about 45 minutes until it thickens, then let it cool.
Steam the sago for 10-15 minutes until it becomes transparent. Rinse it under cold water and set aside. Combine the mango puree with the cooled custard. Add the prepared sago, one tablespoon of basil seeds, and honey for sweetness if desired. Mix in some chopped mango, finely chopped rose petals, cardamom powder, and almonds.
Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for a while. Once ready, pour it into glasses and serve.
