Ranveer Singh's Apology Following Controversy
On Tuesday, Ranveer Singh publicly apologized after facing backlash for allegedly imitating actor Rishab Shetty during the closing ceremony of the 2025 International Film Festival of India (IFFI) held in Goa.
In a post on his Instagram Stories, Ranveer expressed, “My goal was to celebrate Rishab’s remarkable performance in the film. As a fellow actor, I understand the effort it takes to portray that specific scene as he did, and I hold him in high regard for it.”
He continued, “I have always held a deep respect for the diverse cultures, traditions, and beliefs in our nation. If my actions have offended anyone, I genuinely apologize.”
A video from the event went viral, showing Ranveer commending Shetty, stating, “I witnessed your performance in theaters, Rishab; it was phenomenal, particularly the moment when the female ghost possesses you, that shot was incredible…” He then proceeded to reenact the scene, which elicited laughter from Shetty, but many viewers on social media deemed the imitation disrespectful and inappropriate.
Regarding his future endeavors, Ranveer Singh is set to star in 'Dhurandhar,' a spy-action thriller that is written, directed, and co-produced by Aditya Dhar. This film, produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, features a talented cast including Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal, along with supporting roles played by Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi.
