Priyanka Chopra Jonas Nominated for Emmy Award

Priyanka Chopra Jonas has achieved an Emmy nomination for her role in the Prime Video action-comedy Heads of State, which is recognized in the Outstanding Television Movie category at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards. The film features notable actors John Cena and Idris Elba alongside Chopra Jonas.

The announcement of the nominations took place on July 8, presented by Television Academy representatives Liza Colon-Zayas and Jeff Hiller. Heads of State is in competition with other films such as Miss You, Love You, Remarkably Bright Creatures, People We Meet on Vacation, and Jack Ryan: Ghost War for this prestigious award.

This nomination further enhances Chopra Jonas's impressive Hollywood portfolio, which includes producing credits for Oscar-shortlisted documentaries like To Kill a Tiger and Anuja, as well as her previous appearances as a presenter at the BAFTAs. Currently, she is in London with her husband Nick Jonas and their daughter Malti Marie, and she has not yet shared her thoughts on the nomination publicly.

This year, the medical drama The Pitt led the nominations with a total of 25, while Hacks broke records for comedy series with 24 nominations. HBO Max topped the list of networks and streaming platforms with 122 nominations overall, showcasing three shows each in both the drama and comedy categories. Additionally, Rob Reiner received a posthumous nomination for his guest appearance on The Bear, and Bad Bunny garnered nine nominations for his Super Bowl halftime performance. Taylor Swift, a newlywed, also received five nominations for The Eras Tour – The Final Show, including one for producing, adding to her previous Emmy win in 2015 and her 14 Grammy awards.

The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony is scheduled for September 14 at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, and it will be broadcast on NBC, hosted by Mariska Hargitay.
