Mithun Chakraborty Hospitalized for Surgery
Renowned actor and BJP politician Mithun Chakraborty has been admitted to a private medical facility in Kolkata, where he recently had surgery to remove a metal plate that was previously inserted due to an earlier injury. The 74-year-old star is reported to be in stable condition and is anticipated to be discharged shortly.
The news of his hospitalization emerged after West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari visited him on Friday, sharing images from their meeting on social media. In a statement to the media, Adhikari disclosed that the surgery took place on Thursday night and noted that Chakraborty preferred to keep the matter private. 'He did not wish for any publicity regarding this situation. He is recovering well and will be released soon,' he stated.
On the professional front, Chakraborty has two major films set for release: Sunny Deol's Batwara 1947 and Rajinikanth's Jailer 2. The National Film Award recipient, who gained fame with the 1982 hit Disco Dancer, boasts a career that spans over fifty years and includes more than 350 films in both Hindi and Bengali. In addition to his cinematic achievements, he has also been a significant figure for the BJP in West Bengal.
