Mel Gibson and Rosalind Ross Part Ways
Oscar-winning actor Mel Gibson and his partner Rosalind Ross have decided to end their relationship after nine years. A spokesperson from Gibson's legal team has confirmed the news. Although the couple had separated approximately a year ago, they opted to keep this information private until now.
The pair, who began their relationship in 2014, expressed their commitment to co-parenting their 8-year-old son, Lars.
"While it is unfortunate to close this chapter of our lives, we are grateful for our wonderful son and will strive to be the best parents we can be," they stated in their announcement.
Gibson, aged 69, and Ross, 35, who is a film director and former equestrian vaulter, were never married.
The actor has seven children from his previous marriage to Robyn Moore, which lasted from 1980 until 2011.
Additionally, Gibson has a 16-year-old daughter from his relationship with songwriter Oksana Grigorieva.
Known for his influential work in Hollywood, Gibson has made a significant impact as an actor, director, and producer, with acclaimed films such as The Patriot, Blood Father, and Braveheart, the latter of which earned him an Oscar for Best Picture and Best Director in 1996.
