Meet the World's Largest Family Living Harmoniously
A Unique Family of 181 Members
In today's world, rising living costs have led many to prefer smaller families, causing the traditional joint family system to fade. However, we introduce you to an extraordinary family consisting of 181 members, residing in a spacious house with 100 rooms. This family thrives together, sharing joy and laughter.
Living Together in Harmony
Located in the picturesque hills of Bawngkawn village in Mizoram, this remarkable family is led by Ziona Chana. He has 39 wives, 94 children, 14 daughters-in-law, 33 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Their family holds the Guinness World Record for being the largest family. Ziona takes immense pride in managing such a large household, and the question arises: how does he do it?
Daily Food Requirements
Ziona has constructed a home with 100 rooms, ensuring ample space for everyone. The family boasts a large kitchen where they prepare enough food to last a typical family for two to three months. Daily, they consume 45 kilograms of rice, 30-40 chickens, 25 kilograms of lentils, dozens of eggs, 60 kilograms of vegetables, and 20 kilograms of fruits.
Discipline and Influence
The family members adhere to strict discipline, which contributes to their harmonious living. They hold significant influence in their community, with local leaders recognizing their importance. The family's voting power is substantial, as the party they support often gains an advantage in local elections.
Remembering Birthdays
One might wonder how such a large family remembers each member's name. Nunparliana, the eldest son, explains that just as they remember their friends' names, they also remember family members. However, keeping track of everyone's birthdays can be challenging, though someone usually remembers.
A Remarkable Family Dynamic
It is astonishing that this vast family lives together in peace and harmony, especially when smaller families today often face conflicts.
