Mary L. Trump Critiques Uncle Donald's Leadership Amid Controversies
Mary L. Trump's Bold Statements
Mary L. Trump, a psychologist known for her critical views on her uncle, President Donald Trump, recently made waves with a tweet that went viral. In her message, she stated, "Donald is going to get regime change after all, but in America, not Iran. No kings." Mary is the daughter of Frederick Crist Trump Jr., who is Donald Trump's elder brother. Despite their familial ties, she has not hesitated to voice her disapproval of his actions.
Mary has authored two notable books: Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man and The Reckoning: America’s Trauma and Finding a Way to Heal. During a discussion at the Hay Festival in Wales about her latest work, Who Could Ever Love You, she remarked, "He is the only person I've ever met who has never evolved, which is dangerous, by the way. Never choose as your leader somebody who is incapable of evolving. That should be one of the lessons we have learned, for sure."
In 2020, Mary accused Donald, along with his siblings Maryanne Trump Barry and Robert Trump, of defrauding her out of her inheritance. A court document cited by the BBC stated, "They lied. Rather than protect Mary's interests, they designed and carried out a complex scheme to siphon funds away from her, conceal their grift [fraud], and deceive her about the true value of what she had inherited." In 2021, Donald initiated a lawsuit against Mary, The New York Times, and three of its journalists over a 2018 article that suggested he was involved in questionable tax practices.
Recently, Mary faced a ban from TikTok after criticizing Brendan Carr, the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission and a supporter of Donald Trump. On March 26, she shared on her Substack, The Good In Us, "I found out yesterday that I was permanently banned from TikTok. I don’t really know why. Two days ago, I was informed that I had two strikes for content violations against me. Apparently, in the 24-hour period following, I got another strike. What happened between then and now? I can’t tell you because I went from being locked out of my TikTok account to not having one anymore."
Mary continued, "The fix was already in and I suppose it was just a matter of time. But TikTok really had to dig deep to find ‘offensive’ content in my account. The first video they flagged was posted back in October 2024. I incurred the second strike for a recent video in which I criticized FCC chair Brendan Carr for threatening to pull the licenses of networks that report the news about the Iran war accurately." According to reports from the Daily Beast, this situation followed a lawsuit filed by Charles Harder on behalf of Donald Trump's brother Robert, aiming to prevent Mary Trump and publisher Simon & Schuster from releasing her memoir, Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man.
