Jim Carrey Receives Honorary Award at Cesar Awards

On Thursday, actor Jim Carrey was celebrated with an honorary accolade during the 51st Cesar Awards ceremony held in France. The event featured an emotional moment as Carrey delivered his acceptance speech entirely in French. He was welcomed to the stage by director Michel Gondry, known for his collaboration with Carrey in the 2004 film, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

During his speech, Carrey expressed, “Every role I take on is like clay in the hands of a sculptor, molded to reflect my deepest desires. I feel incredibly fortunate to have shared this artistic journey with so many who have opened their hearts to me.” He was accompanied by his daughter Jane, grandson Jackson, and girlfriend Mina. Carrey continued, “I am grateful to my amazing family, especially my daughter Jane and grandson Jackson. My love for you is eternal. A special thanks to my wonderful partner, Mina. I love you, Mina. Lastly, I want to acknowledge the funniest person I know, my father, Percy Joseph Carrey, who instilled in me the importance of love, kindness, and humor.”

Concluding his speech, he humorously asked the audience, “How did I do with my French? Almost mediocre, right? Please forgive me; I’m still learning. My tongue is quite tired!”
