Janhavi Bansal's Breakthrough Role

In the hit film Dhurandhar 2, actress Janhavi Bansal shares a brief yet significant moment on screen with R Madhavan, playing his wife. For Janhavi, this role is more than just another credit; it symbolizes her years of dedication, a passion for acting, and the bravery to chase her dreams without any industry connections.

A Journey Rooted in Passion

Coming from a traditional business family, Janhavi never considered a conventional 9-to-5 job. Her acting aspirations began long before she stepped in front of the camera. She pursued her education at GCG-11 and Panjab University, earning a master's degree in human rights. Throughout her studies, she engaged in cultural activities, stage performances, and campus events, which fueled her passion for the performing arts and helped her build the confidence necessary for auditions and workshops.

Theatre and Workshops

Janhavi has participated in acting workshops in her city and is currently involved in theatre under the guidance of mentors like Umesh Kant.

Seizing Opportunities

Every small opportunity has been a stepping stone for her. She featured in a Punjabi music video, Lakhan Vichon Ik, which was broadcast on regional channels such as PTC and MH1. Lacking a 'godfather' in the industry, Janhavi relied solely on auditions and her determination. She recalls the days of uploading audition videos online, hoping they would catch the attention of the right people.

A Dream Role in Dhurandhar 2

Her big break arrived when she submitted her profile and audition tape for Dhurandhar 2, directed by Aditya Dhar. After undergoing look tests and character discussions, she was chosen to play the wife of a character inspired by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.

Memorable Filming Experience

Filming Dhurandhar was an unforgettable experience for Janhavi. Some of her scenes were shot at the historic Patiala Palace. Working alongside Madhavan was particularly thrilling for her, as she has long admired his films like Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein and Tanu Weds Manu. She admits to feeling 'goosebumps' while performing as his on-screen spouse. Despite the film's grand scale and budget, she was impressed by the warm and respectful environment on set, where even newcomers were treated with kindness.

A Spiritual Moment

One standout scene was filmed on Shivratri, featuring a Mahamrityunjaya mantra chant and a havan during a pivotal moment. The spiritual energy of this scene left a lasting impression on her.

Support from Family

Janhavi skillfully balances her acting ambitions with family life, crediting her parents and husband for their unwavering support, even when some relatives were initially skeptical about her choice to enter the entertainment industry. Her in-laws from Moga have also been encouraging.

Other Projects

In addition to Dhurandhar 2, Janhavi has worked on films like The Imaginary Rain and The Last Letter, which are currently making the festival rounds.

Celebrating Local Talent

As Dhurandhar: The Revenge breaks box office records, earning Rs 919 crore in just six days, the city of Jalandhar is also celebrating its own success. Three acclaimed singers from the area—Khan Saab, Jyoti Nooran, and Jasmine Sandlas—have contributed to the film's soundtrack, elevating it beyond a mere film album.

Khan Saab's Contribution

Khan Saab is credited with delivering the essence of the soundtrack. Music director Shashwat Sachdev has reimagined the classic qawwali Jaan Se Guzarte Hain from 1977, with his rendition of 'Dil pe zakhm khaate hain, jaan se guzarte hain' resonating deeply with audiences. He also contributed to the film's energetic title track 'Aari-Aari.'

Jyoti Nooran's Versatility

Jyoti Nooran showcases her versatility with two distinct tracks: the haunting 'Tere Ishq Ne' and the upbeat 'Vaari Jaavan,' the latter featuring collaborations with Shashwat Sachdev, rapper Reble, and Jasmine Sandlas.

Jasmine Sandlas' Contributions

In Dhurandhar 2, Jasmine Sandlas has lent her voice to three tracks, including the bold 'Jaiye Sajna,' co-written and sung with Satinder Sartaaj, the techno-infused 'Main Aur Tu' featuring rapper Reble, and the title track 'Aari-Aari' alongside Khan Saab and others.

Spotlight on Pari Pandher

Umarpura, a small village near Mandi Ahmedgarh, is gaining attention thanks to Pari Pandher, also known as Parvinder Kaur Pandher.

Pari's Role in Dhurandhar 2

Pari portrays Jasleen Kaur Rangi, the younger sister of Ranveer Singh’s character, Jaskirat Singh Rangi, in Dhurandhar 2. She appreciates the character's evolution, which required her to portray a woman in her 30s with wrinkles, dark circles, and grey hair.
