A Glimpse into Sachin Tendulkar's Iconic Home

Before it became a renowned landmark in cricket, 19-A Perry Cross Road in Bandra was known as Dorab Villa, a bungalow constructed in 1926. Originally owned by the Wardens family, it was purchased by cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar in 2007. However, it took four years of extensive renovations led by architect Prakash Sapre before Sachin and Anjali could finally move in during 2011. The villa's heritage was preserved while modernizing the interiors, resulting in a unique blend of historical architecture and contemporary design. The expansive bungalow covers over 6,000 square feet across three levels, featuring two basements and a spacious terrace that overlooks the Arabian Sea, making it one of Mumbai's most desirable locations.

Rooms That Reflect Personal Stories

Upon entering through a beautifully carved dark wooden door, the living room unfolds, showcasing a palette of white and brown with luxurious earthy sofas, vibrant cushions, and glossy cream marble flooring. A large leather armchair and elegant ivory lamps complete the inviting atmosphere.

The formal sitting area features terracotta sofas, grand arches, Turkish carpets, and striking artworks in shades of green and yellow, merging modern aesthetics with Indian heritage, accentuated by brass sculptures. High above the lively streets of Bandra, a tranquil terrace serves as Sachin's morning yoga spot and evening meditation retreat, often joined by his son Arjun for workouts.

A dedicated temple room holds spiritual significance, featuring Tendulkar's cricket bat alongside religious idols. The outdoor garden, reportedly his favorite area, is adorned with palm trees, a small pond, tropical plants, and cane furniture, providing a gathering space for the family. The Impressive Basement Garage

Designed to accommodate nearly 50 cars, it houses an impressive collection, including a custom red BMW i8 valued at approximately Rs 2.6 crore, a Porsche 911 Turbo S worth around Rs 3.35 crore, and a BMW X5 M50d, the first of its kind in India, imported specifically for Tendulkar.

The value of this property has soared, reflecting Tendulkar's illustrious career. Originally purchased for Rs 39 crore in 2007, it is now estimated to be worth over Rs 100 crore, with an additional Rs 25 crore spent on interior design. The Tendulkar family also owns a 1,600 sq ft apartment in Rustomjee Seasons, BKC, acquired for Rs 7.15 crore in 2018, designed by Singaporean designer David Tay. However, the Bandra residence remains a private sanctuary, not open for public tours, although fans can admire its exterior from Perry Cross Road.
