Huma Qureshi's Career Highlights Unveiled

During a recent meet and greet in Mohali, Huma Qureshi shared three significant updates regarding her career: the audience's reception of her latest film Baby Do Die Do, her enthusiasm for the upcoming release of Toxic next month, and the commencement of filming for Maharani Season 5.

In Baby Do Die Do, where she portrays Baby Karmarkar, a character who is both deaf and mute, Qureshi expressed that this role presented unique challenges. She remarked, “Playing a deaf and mute character was a true test for me. I had to express a wide array of emotions without uttering a single word. Typically, I am recognized for my dialogue delivery, but in this two-hour film, I had to create drama without speaking or hearing my co-stars. It’s a completely different cinematic experience,” she explained.

Qureshi acknowledged the audience's positive feedback, particularly from Punjab, stating, “The response from viewers is incredibly meaningful. I am thankful to everyone, especially in Punjab, for their love for the film.” When asked about her cinema visits since leaving Mumbai, she humorously replied, “I’ve been to all of them.” She also expressed a desire to be embraced by Mohali, saying, “I hope you adopt me so I can move here.”

She credited her brother, Saqib Saleem, who produced the film, saying, “My brother is also my producer. Saqib put in a tremendous amount of effort, and it took us four years to bring this film to life.”

Regarding Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, which is set to release on August 26 after several delays, Qureshi expressed her excitement, stating, “I am thrilled! This month we have Baby Do Die Do, and next month Toxic. Fingers crossed, Inshallah. Please continue to support me.”

Directed by Geetu Mohandas and featuring Yash in a dual role, Toxic is among the most lavish productions in Indian cinema, with Qureshi taking on a pivotal negative role as Elizabeth.

Additionally, she confirmed that filming for the next season of her web series will begin shortly, stating, “We are set to start shooting for Maharani Season 5 next month.” The previous season left her character, Rani Bharti, in a dramatic position, transitioning from a powerful political figure to a mother seeking vengeance after her son’s tragic death, leaving fans eager for the next installment.
