While some individuals find relief quickly, others may struggle with this condition for an extended period, often seeking various treatments. A common belief is that dehydration exacerbates this problem.


Burning during urination is a prevalent issue that can arise from urinary tract infections, kidney stones, and dehydration. Here, we explore some home remedies to alleviate this discomfort.


This condition often results in infrequent urination accompanied by a burning sensation. In Ayurveda, this issue is referred to as 'Mutrakrichra.' Both men and women can experience this problem, with approximately 80 out of 100 individuals facing it at some point in their lives.


Experiencing a burning sensation during urination is common for both genders, yet many feel embarrassed to discuss it. While some find quick relief, others may endure it for longer periods.


During the summer months, excessive consumption of hot foods can trigger this issue. However, if the discomfort persists, it may indicate a more serious underlying condition, warranting immediate medical attention. Today, we will share some effective home remedies through Ayurvedic practices.


Ayurvedic Remedies for Burning Sensation in Urine

Mix one tablespoon of coriander powder in a glass of water and let it sit overnight. Strain it in the morning and add sugar or jaggery before consuming.


Cucumbers are rich in water and help maintain digestive health. They contain alkaline properties that support proper urinary function.


Dehydration can lead to this issue, causing urine to appear darker. Therefore, it is essential to drink plenty of water and consider coconut water, which helps alleviate dehydration and burning sensations.


Crush five almonds and six to seven cardamom pods with sugar and mix them in a glass of water for relief.


Coconut water is beneficial for hydration and can be mixed with jaggery and coriander powder for added benefits.


Mix 300 grams of milk with 300 grams of water and sugar, and consume it on an empty stomach for seven days to find relief from this condition. Soak fennel seeds and sugar in water overnight, then mash and strain, adding raw milk for consumption to treat burning and infections within a few days.


Soak a handful of wheat in water overnight. In the morning, grind the wheat in the same water, strain it, and add sugar before drinking. This remedy can provide relief from pain and burning over a week.


Drinking warm water can ease pain during urination. Mixing a little water with raw milk can also help, and adding alum to water and consuming it two to three times a day can provide relief.


Fruits rich in vitamin C, such as citrus fruits, can kill bacteria that cause urinary infections, preventing burning sensations. Including amla in your diet can also help alleviate this issue. Mixing cardamom and amla powder in equal parts with water can be effective.


Chop five grams of onion finely and boil it in half a liter of water. Once reduced to half, strain and cool it before drinking. This remedy is highly effective for stopping burning sensations during urination.


Kalmi shora, cardamom seeds, and cold milk mixed with water can help alleviate burning sensations. Grind kalmi shora and cardamom seeds into a fine powder, take one tablespoon, and mix it with equal parts of milk and cold water. Consuming this three times a day for two days can relieve burning.


Boil fresh coriander in water, strain, and consume the liquid two to three times daily. Eating an apple daily can reduce frequent urination at night.


Consuming about 50 grams of roasted chickpeas with a little jaggery can help reduce excessive urination, especially for the elderly who may need to follow this remedy for a longer duration.
