Effective Drink to Lower Cholesterol Levels
Understanding Cholesterol and Its Impact
Cholesterol Management: Individuals struggling with high cholesterol often experience a buildup of bad cholesterol in their blood vessels, leading to restricted blood flow. While cholesterol is essential for the body to function properly, excessive levels can be detrimental to health.
Elevated bad cholesterol can result in heart issues, persistent pain in limbs, and inadequate blood circulation to various body parts. Therefore, it is crucial to lower high cholesterol levels. Dr. Vivek Joshi, an Ayurvedic expert, shares insights on effective methods to reduce cholesterol through his social media platforms. In one of his videos, he discusses a beneficial drink that helps cleanse the arteries.
Recommended Drink for Cholesterol Reduction
To prepare the drink suggested by the doctor, you will need garlic, which contains allicin that protects against cholesterol oxidation. This oxidation is considered a major cause of blockages. Additionally, ginger, known for its anti-inflammatory properties due to gingerol, is required. Lemon, acting as a natural detoxifier, is also essential as it provides vitamin C, which offers antioxidants to combat free radicals.
Start by crushing 5 to 6 cloves of garlic along with an inch of peeled ginger. Combine this mixture with one liter of water and boil for 5 to 7 minutes. Allow it to cool to room temperature, then add the juice of one whole lemon. Mix thoroughly and transfer the mixture into a glass container.
Store this container in the refrigerator. According to the doctor, you should consume 50 milliliters of this mixture every morning on an empty stomach. If drinking it on an empty stomach is uncomfortable, you can take it an hour after breakfast. It is recommended to drink it at least once a day.
Fennel Water as an Alternative
Fennel water can also aid in reducing high cholesterol levels. It promotes digestive health and can help lower blood sugar levels. To prepare fennel water, boil 2 to 3 teaspoons of fennel seeds in water. This water can be consumed on an empty stomach in the morning.
