Community Health Camp in Palampur Honors Swadesh Chopra's Legacy

Rotary Club Organizes Free Medical Checkup Camp

On July 7, 2025, a complimentary medical checkup camp took place at Rotary Bhawan in Palampur, marking the 10th anniversary of the late Swadesh Chopra, a cherished individual known for her dedication and kindness.


Running from 10 AM to 2 PM, this event was a joint initiative by the Rotary Eye Hospital-Maranda, Rotary Women and Child Care Centre-Thakurdwara, and Rotary Club-Palampur. The primary goal was to provide free healthcare services to the local community, focusing particularly on women and children.


Specialist consultations were offered by Dr. Poonam Saluria (gynaecologist), Dr. Alok Yadav (paediatrician), and Nitin Rana (optometrist), who attended to numerous patients throughout the day.


Notable attendees included former BJP MLA Parveen Kumar, Rotary Club president Ajay Sood, and secretary Raghav Sharma, along with other esteemed community members. Schoolchildren from local institutions also took part in the camp, receiving health checkups.


Ajay Sood remarked, 'The Rotary Club has consistently emphasized community health and service. This camp serves as a tribute to Swadesh Chopra and embodies her values of compassion and selfless service.'
