Dimple Kapadia's Striking Appearance at The Odyssey Premiere

At the Mumbai premiere of Christopher Nolan's highly anticipated film, The Odyssey, on July 11, Dimple Kapadia showcased her status as a fashion icon in Bollywood. The 69-year-old actress donned a striking monochrome outfit crafted by the renowned design duo Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla.

Kapadia's ensemble featured the label's 'Godart' coat, made from luxurious black chamois fabric, which boasted an exaggerated shoulder design that lent an architectural flair to her appearance on the red carpet. The coat was adorned with intricate Bandhani-inspired patterns, complemented by vibrant Resham threadwork and Zardozi embellishments that added a touch of sparkle without overpowering the overall look. Beneath the coat, she wore a black quilted waistcoat paired with a flowing sarong skirt, maintaining a graceful silhouette despite the coat's structured nature.

Her accessories, also from Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, played a significant role in her outfit. The standout piece was her 'Talismati' pendant, an oversized eye-shaped gold design embellished with rubies and pave diamonds, which hung elegantly from a long chain, serving as a nod to Shiva's third eye. Additionally, she accessorized with 'Taweez'-inspired hoop earrings and matching bangles, symbolizing divine protection through their intricate details. Kapadia opted for a subtle makeup look, featuring defined eyes, soft pink cheeks, and a nude lip.

This appearance is just another example of Kapadia's long-standing commitment to showcasing Indian textile traditions over typical red-carpet glamour. Her enduring collaboration with designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla has resulted in numerous memorable fashion moments throughout her career.

The Odyssey, which features a star-studded cast including Matt Damon, Zendaya, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, and Charlize Theron, is set to hit theaters globally on July 17, 2026.
