Faria Abdullah's Emotional Response to Backlash

Telugu actress Faria Abdullah has shared a heartfelt video on social media in response to criticism she faced for her involvement in the Bonalu festival in Hyderabad. The star of Jathi Ratnalu expressed her feelings while breaking down, emphasizing her commitment to values such as "love," "unity," and peace.

On August 9, Faria participated in the Bonalu festivities, a significant Hindu celebration in Telangana dedicated to Goddess Mahakali, held at the Sri Simhavahini Mahankali Temple in Hyderabad's Old City. Footage from the event captured her carrying a traditional Bonam and engaging with Pothuraju performers during the procession.

Faria, whose father converted to Islam from Hinduism, addressed the trolls who labeled her a 'kafir' for her beliefs. She articulated her perspective on religion, stating that she perceives life in everything around her.

"My dad converted to Islam because he appreciated the faith. What kind of upbringing would I have had if I was taught to appreciate the beauty of a religion that someone loved so much? I have always recognized the goodness in Islam. I genuinely wish you well," she remarked.

She further expressed her disdain for those who insulted her, asserting that she harbors no ill will towards them. Faria shared her belief in finding spirituality and life in nature and the environment.

"To those who criticize me, who think I am wrong or a 'kafir,' I wish you well. I see life in trees, rocks, and butterflies; it’s everywhere. If that doesn’t inspire you or deepen your belief in God, then I’m sorry, you’re missing out," she stated.

"If you fail to see the magic or divinity in everything and everyone you encounter, you’re truly missing out. I pray for love, unity, and peace, and I will continue to do so because that is my form of rebellion and revolution," she concluded.

Faria's background is rooted in interfaith, with her father, Sanjay Abdullah, transitioning from Hinduism to Islam, while her mother, Kausar Sultana, was born Muslim but later embraced Hindu spirituality and meditation.
