What prompted him to delve into a love story? Ruchir admits, “I found myself yearning for the love stories reminiscent of the 1990s and early 2000s, such as those by Mani Ratnam or Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Karan Johar’s Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. These films featured characters that could be described as ‘green flags.’” Upon reading the screenplay, he was captivated by the characters Sudha, Chandra, and Preeti, feeling an immediate connection. The overwhelming response from audiences has left him deeply touched.

Beyond the accolades, what truly delights Ruchir is the resurgence of Divya Prakash Dubey’s Hindi novel, which inspired the series, now a bestseller on Amazon. He notes that the adaptation, crafted by showrunner Sharanya Rajgopal, is not merely a direct translation of the book.

Which elements remain true to the original and which are products of their creativity is something he encourages viewers to explore. “I prefer not to disclose too much; I want people to read the book and uncover the differences themselves,” he explains.
