Diwali Puja Samagri (Ritual Items) 2026: The joyous festival of Diwali is set to take place on November 8, 2026. On this significant day, devotees traditionally honor Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha during the 'Pradosh Kaal,' which is the time after sunset. Many also pay homage to Lord Kuber and other deities. It is widely believed that performing rituals during the auspicious time (shubh muhurat) on Diwali brings joy, wealth, and well-being to households. Worshipping Goddess Lakshmi on this day is thought to alleviate financial troubles and ensure the deities' blessings for the family. To facilitate the rituals smoothly, it is advisable to gather all necessary items beforehand. Below is a list of materials needed for the Diwali puja.

Auspicious Timing for Lakshmi Pujan on Diwali 2026

As per Drik Panchang, the auspicious time for Lakshmi Pujan will commence at 5:54 PM on November 8 and last until 7:50 PM. During this timeframe, the 'Vrishabha Lagna' (Taurus ascendant)—a stable or fixed ascendant—will be in effect, making it an especially favorable time for worshipping Goddess Lakshmi.

Lakshmi Pujan Muhurat: 5:54 PM to 7:50 PM
Pradosh Kaal: 5:31 PM to 8:09 PM
Vrishabha Kaal: 5:54 PM to 7:50 PM
Nishita Kaal: 11:39 PM to 12:31 AM
Simha Lagna: 12:25 AM to 2:42 AM
For those with households, conducting the worship of Goddess Lakshmi during the Pradosh Kaal and the 'sthir lagna' (fixed ascendant) on Diwali night is deemed most auspicious. Meanwhile, the Nishita Kaal is regarded as the prime time for Tantric rituals and the worship of Goddess Kali.

Religious beliefs suggest that honoring deities during the specified auspicious times on Diwali brings joy, tranquility, and prosperity to homes. The illumination from the *diyas* (lamps) and the rituals performed as prescribed are believed to eliminate negativity and promote positive energy. Since Diwali occurs on the *Amavasya* (new moon) tithi, lighting lamps in remembrance of ancestors (*pitris*) is also considered auspicious, as it is thought to invoke their blessings.
