Usha, a Ranchi homemaker, shares that the traditional recipe involves a blend of whole wheat flour (*atta*) and refined flour (*maida*). For a healthier version, using only whole wheat flour is recommended.


Simple Steps to Prepare Khajur

**Easy Recipe for Khajur:**
Begin by measuring the flour (or the flour-and-*maida* blend) according to your desired quantity of Khajur. Incorporate at least 6 tablespoons of refined oil or *ghee* as a binding agent (*moyan*), mixing it well with your hands. Concurrently, prepare a thin sugar syrup (*chashni*), ensuring it has a watery consistency. For instance, if using 1 kilogram of flour, a syrup made from 250 grams of sugar will suffice.

After the oil is well mixed into the flour, add the sugar syrup. To enhance the taste, include two handfuls of grated coconut, a pinch of cardamom powder, and finely chopped dry fruits.
