Denis Villeneuve to Direct New James Bond Film

Amazon MGM Studios has announced that Denis Villeneuve, known for his work on Dune, will be directing the upcoming James Bond film.


Tanya Lapointe joins the project as an executive producer, while Amy Pascal and David Heyman will take on the roles of producers for this highly anticipated movie. Villeneuve expressed his deep connection to the Bond franchise, stating that he feels privileged to continue its legacy. He described the opportunity as a significant ‘responsibility’.


“Some of my fondest memories of going to the movies are tied to 007. I grew up watching Bond films with my father, starting with Dr. No featuring Sean Connery. I am a passionate Bond enthusiast. To me, this territory is sacred,” Villeneuve shared.


“I aim to respect the tradition while paving the way for many new adventures ahead. This is a tremendous responsibility, yet it is also incredibly thrilling for me and a great honor. Amy, David, and I are genuinely excited to bring him back to the big screen. I appreciate the trust placed in us by Amazon MGM Studios,” he added. Villeneuve, an Oscar-nominated filmmaker from Canada, recently directed Dune and its sequel, Dune: Part Two.
