A Unique Sweet Treat for Rainy Days

During the rainy season, many people find themselves yearning for something new, tasty, and sweet. If you're looking to create something special this monsoon, consider making 'Apple Kheer' at home. While traditional rice or sago kheer is a staple in many kitchens, apple kheer provides a distinct and delightful flavor. It's remarkably simple to make and can be ready in just a few minutes.

Steps to Prepare Apple Kheer

Step 1: Prepare the Apple - Begin by washing the apple thoroughly to eliminate any dirt. Next, peel and grate the apple.

Step 2: Cook the Apple - In a pan, heat two tablespoons of ghee and add the grated apple. Sweeten with sugar to your liking and cook on low heat for about 5 minutes. When the apple reaches a light golden hue, remove it from the heat and allow it to cool completely.

Step 3: Prepare Milk and Nuts - In a separate pan, heat milk until it boils. Incorporate coarsely ground cashews, almonds, and fox nuts (makhana) into the milk.

Step 4: Combine Ingredients - Once the cooked apple has cooled, mix it into the boiling milk. Continue to cook this mixture on low heat for 5 to 10 minutes, stirring consistently.

Important Note: Due to the natural tartness of apples, adding them directly to hot milk can cause curdling. Always ensure the apple is mixed into the milk only after it has cooled.

A Nutritious and Tasty Dish for Fasting

Healthy and Delicious
This kheer, made with apples, milk, cashews, almonds, fox nuts, and desi ghee, is both nutritious and delicious. It tastes even better when chilled before serving. This dish is an excellent source of energy during religious fasts, helping to stave off hunger and fatigue for extended periods. It's a fantastic, quick dessert option—ideal for welcoming unexpected guests or serving to children and the elderly.
