Indulge in a Unique Halwa for Your Fast

If you're looking to break your fast with something beyond the typical *Sabudana* (sago) and potatoes, consider trying *Singhare ke Aate ka Halwa* (Water Chestnut Flour Halwa). This dish is not only simple to make but also melts in your mouth, providing you with lasting energy throughout the day while offering a delightful taste. Let’s explore the easiest way to prepare this treat.

Ingredients for *Singhare ka Halwa*

1 cup of Water Chestnut Flour (*Singhare ka Atta*)
½ cup of Desi Ghee (Clarified Butter) - This is essential for the authentic flavor and aroma of the *Halwa*
½ cup of Sugar - Adjust to your taste preference
2 cups of Water
½ teaspoon of Cardamom Powder - For added fragrance
2 tablespoons of Chopped Nuts (Cashews, almonds, pistachios, and raisins)

Steps to Prepare *Singhare ka Halwa*

Begin by heating a heavy-bottomed pan (*kadhai*) on medium flame and adding the *Desi Ghee*. Once melted, incorporate the water chestnut flour into the pan.

Roast the flour while stirring continuously with a ladle, keeping the flame low to medium. Continue this until the flour achieves a light golden-brown hue and releases a nutty aroma.

Once roasted, lower the flame to its minimum. Gradually pour in the water with one hand while stirring the *Halwa* vigorously with the other to prevent lumps from forming, ensuring a smooth consistency.

As the flour absorbs the water and the mixture thickens, add the sugar and stir until it dissolves completely, enhancing the *Halwa*'s color.

When the *Halwa* starts to separate from the pan's sides and the ghee is visible, it's ready. Add the cardamom powder and chopped nuts, then turn off the heat.
