Ingredients Needed

Ingredients

Bottle gourd – 1
Wheat flour – 2 cups
Onion – 1
Red chili powder – 1 teaspoon
Coriander powder – 1 teaspoon
Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
Chopped fresh coriander leaves – 2 tablespoons
Oil – as needed
Salt – to taste

Step-by-Step Preparation

Method

- Begin by peeling the bottle gourd and grating it into a bowl.
- Next, finely chop the onion and combine it with the grated bottle gourd in a mixing bowl, ensuring they are well mixed.
- Add red chili powder, cumin seeds, coriander powder, and chopped coriander leaves to the mixture, blending everything thoroughly.
- Incorporate the wheat flour into the mixture, ensuring it is evenly combined, and let it rest for a while.
- After resting, knead the dough again and form small balls. Roll each ball into a circular or triangular shape.

Cooking the Paratha

- Heat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat and add a little oil, spreading it evenly.
- Once hot, place the rolled paratha on the griddle. After about 20 seconds, flip it over and apply oil to the other side using a spoon.
- Cook until both sides are golden brown, then transfer to a plate. Repeat the process with the remaining dough balls to make more lauki parathas.
