To prepare for the *Puja* (worship), start by gathering *Batashas* (sugar puffs), camphor, a brass lamp (*Diya*), soil, an earthen pot, and a lid for the pot. Next, include a *Kalava* (sacred red thread), cotton wicks, *Sindoor* (vermilion), incense sticks, a small amount of clean, whole rice grains, rubber bands, a nose ring (*Nath*), a floral garland (*Gajra*), and a *Maang Tikka* (forehead ornament). Additionally, obtain earrings, a comb, a mirror, and a new, clean red *Chunari* (sacred scarf) for the Goddess.
Completing the Worship List
Next, add a *Jata Nariyal* (husked coconut), water, *Gangajal* (holy water from the Ganges), a *Chunari*, a lamp (*Diya*), *Mauli* (sacred thread), betel nuts (*Supari*), and *Durva* grass to your worship materials. Following this, arrange a clean *Lota* (ritual water vessel), a dry coconut, a floral garland, betel leaves (*Paan*), garments for the Mother Goddess, cotton wicks, and either sesame oil or *Ghee* (clarified butter).
