Celebrating International Yoga Day: A Community Event in Dalhousie

On International Yoga Day, Dalhousie hosted a vibrant yoga event at the Youth Hostel, organized by Mera Yuva Bharat and the Ministry of Youth Affairs. Led by Dr. Navdeep Rathore, participants engaged in various yoga practices while learning about the benefits of yoga. The event featured notable guests who encouraged the youth to adopt yoga as a lifestyle. With active involvement from local organizations, the celebration concluded with a collective pledge to integrate yoga into daily routines, fostering community wellness and awareness.

A special yoga event took place at the Youth Hostel in Dalhousie to commemorate International Yoga Day, organized by Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), Chamba, in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India. The gathering saw enthusiastic participation from community members, including youth, women, and senior citizens.


Dr. Navdeep Rathore led the yoga session, guiding attendees through various asanas, pranayama, and meditation practices while emphasizing the scientific and practical advantages of yoga.


Mr. Anil Bhardwaj, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Dalhousie, attended as the chief guest. Other notable guests included Mr. Kunal Joshi from the Himalayan Nature Club and Mr. Gaurav Kohli, an Acharya from Father School. They spoke to the audience about the numerous physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of consistent yoga practice, urging the youth to embrace yoga as a lifestyle.


The event was made successful through the active participation of the Himalayan Nature Club, Youth Hostel Dalhousie, and MY Bharat volunteers. It was organized under the supervision of Youth Hostel Manager Mr. Devendra Sharma and District Youth Officer Mr. Rahul Garg.


At the end of the program, all participants united in a pledge to promote the message of International Yoga Day and incorporate yoga into their everyday lives. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks to the guests, volunteers, and attendees.
