Since it is believed that Lord Ganesha was born during the *Madhyahna Kaal* (midday period) of *Chaturthi Tithi*, the festival will be observed on September 14 this year.

3. Cover the altar with a red or yellow cloth. Before starting the worship, hold water, flowers, and rice in your hands and make a solemn vow (Sankalp) to observe the fast or perform the ritual.

4. Begin by invoking Lord Ganesha with the mantra ‘Om Gam Ganapataye Namah’.
5. Bathe the idol with *Panchamrit*. After bathing, dress the deity in new clothes and adornments.
6. Present Lord Ganesha with his favorite *bhog* (sacred food offerings)—*Modaks* and *Laddus*. Additionally, offer *Durva* grass, red flowers, and *Sindoor* (vermilion). Finally, perform the *Aarti* of Lord Ganesha with your family.
