The 8th Critics’ Choice Awards celebrated the best in Indian cinema and streaming, recognizing outstanding films and performances. Homebound took home four major awards, including Best Film and Best Director for Neeraj Ghaywan. Notable actors like Vishal Jethwa and Priyanka Bose were honored for their performances, while veteran Farida Jalal received a special award for her contributions to cinema. A Night of Recognition in Indian Cinema

The 8th Critics’ Choice Awards, organized by the Film Critics Guild on Tuesday night, showcased some of the most influential figures in Indian film and streaming.


This event honored exceptional storytelling across various formats, with notable attendees including Sayani Gupta, Shabana Azmi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Kalki Koechlin, among others.


Leading the accolades was the film Homebound, which clinched four prestigious awards, such as Best Film and Best Director for Neeraj Ghaywan. In the acting categories, Vishal Jethwa was recognized as Best Actor, while Shalini Vatsa received the Best Supporting Actress award. Priyanka Bose was celebrated as Best Actress for her role in Agra. Additionally, veteran actress Farida Jalal was presented with the Extraordinary Contribution to Cinema Award. In the realm of web series, Black Warrant emerged as a significant winner, and Jaideep Ahlawat was honored as Best Actor for his performance in Paatal Lok, marking a night that highlighted both traditional and contemporary storytelling.
