The highly anticipated film 'Haiwaan' is set to bring together Bollywood icons Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan after an 18-year hiatus, with its global release scheduled for September 11, as announced by the film's producers on Saturday.
Renowned director Priyadarshan, celebrated for his successful comedies like 'Hera Pheri', 'Hulchul', 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa', and 'Hungama', is at the helm of this project.
Produced by KVN Productions and Thespian Films, 'Haiwaan' also stars Shriya Pilgaonkar and Saiyami Kher.
The announcement was made via their official Instagram account, stating, 'One obsession. One relentless pursuit. One date you’ll want to remember. #Haiwaan – A Priyadarshan film starring Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar in cinemas 11th September 2026. Mark your calendars.'
Akshay and Saif have previously collaborated on several films, including 'Main Khiladi Tu Anari', 'Yeh Dillagi', 'Aarzoo', 'Tu Chor Main Sipahi', and 'Keemat'.
Their last appearance together was in the 2008 action film 'Tashan', which also featured Kareena Kapoor Khan and Anil Kapoor.
Reports indicate that 'Haiwaan' is a gripping thriller filled with suspense and intense drama, serving as a Hindi remake of the 2016 Malayalam film 'Oppam', originally starring Mohanlal.
Currently, Akshay is featured in 'Welcome to the Jungle', the third installment of the beloved 'Welcome' series, which premiered in theaters on Friday.
Saif's latest role was in the Netflix crime drama 'Kartavya', directed by Pulkit and produced by Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment, where he portrayed a police officer alongside Rasika Dugal and Sanjay Mishra.
