Akshay Kumar's Charitable Efforts in Flood Relief: Building Homes for the Displaced
Akshay Kumar's Commitment to Rebuild Lives After Floods
The recent floods in Assam have brought back memories of the devastating floods in Punjab last year, which resulted in the destruction of numerous homes and the tragic loss of 40 lives. In response to this calamity, actor Akshay Kumar took significant action by committing to construct 100 homes for those affected, with 80 already completed.
Gurpreet Ghuggi, who has worked alongside Kumar in films such as 'Singh Is Kingg' (2008) and 'Cuttputtli' (2022), shared that Akshay reached out to him to explore how he could assist. While food supplies were being distributed, Ghuggi emphasized the need for long-term support for families whose homes had been lost.
Regarding Kumar's initiative to build homes, Ghuggi mentioned, "I organized a team to locate those in dire need. The majority of these homes are being built in the Gurdaspur and Amritsar regions. The remaining houses will be finished shortly, all thanks to Akshay's efforts." This charitable project is being executed through the Hari Om Foundation, which Kumar established in honor of his late father, Hari Om Bhatia.
Reflecting on Akshay Kumar's kindness during critical times, Ghuggi remarked, "While Akshay may portray a fierce character in his upcoming film, in reality, he is a truly compassionate person. He prefers to keep his charitable actions private, stating, 'There’s nothing extraordinary about helping others and then boasting about it.'"
