New Delhi: On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the ongoing collaboration between India and Indonesia across various sectors. His remarks followed a meeting with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto during the two-day BRICS Summit held in New Delhi.

PM Modi shared on X, "It was wonderful to connect with President Prabowo Subianto at the BRICS Delhi Summit. His warmth and optimistic spirit are truly inspiring. India and Indonesia will continue to enhance their partnership across multiple sectors."

President Subianto, who departed for Indonesia on Sunday afternoon, attended the BRICS Summit at Bharat Mandapam, which gathered leaders from BRICS nations and partner countries, along with invited guests.

Before the summit's opening session on Saturday, he engaged in friendly discussions with Prime Minister Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The Indonesian Cabinet Secretariat shared a glimpse of this interaction on social media, stating: "During the 18th BRICS Summit in India, President Prabowo Subianto enjoyed a cordial conversation with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Chinese President Xi Jinping. The atmosphere was warm and friendly as the leaders conversed before the session commenced."

Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono noted that during the BRICS session, Indonesia highlighted the importance of a more robust and representative multilateral system, emphasizing the group's role in promoting collective interests and prosperity for all, particularly the Global South.

"Inclusive global governance and effective multilateralism are crucial for uniting the Global South and ensuring every nation has a voice. I accompanied President Prabowo Subianto at the first session of the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit in New Delhi. Indonesia stressed the need for a stronger multilateral framework, supported by a reformed UN that is more representative and responsive to our peoples' needs. As a coalition of major economies and leading energy producers, BRICS has the potential to foster greater resilience and prosperity for all," Sugiono posted on X.
