Viral Prank Call Targets Reza Pahlavi, Exiled Son of Iran's Last Shah
Prank Call Goes Viral
A video call featuring Reza Pahlavi, the exiled son of Iran’s last monarch and a notable opposition leader, has gained significant attention online after it was revealed to be a prank by the famous Russian comedy duo, Vovan (Vladimir Kuznetsov) and Lexus (Aleksei Stoliarov). The duo reportedly contacted Pahlavi while impersonating senior advisors to German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. In the viral footage, one of the pranksters appears dressed as Adolf Hitler, complete with the iconic mustache and hairstyle, introducing himself as 'Adolf' and claiming to be a close aide to the chancellor. The other prankster, speaking with a heavy Russian accent, conducted most of the dialogue, asserting he represented official German channels.
The conversation reportedly lasted between 40 to 60 minutes, with some sources indicating there was an initial call followed by a second video segment. Despite the bizarre nature of the situation, Pahlavi appeared to treat the dialogue as serious diplomatic engagement and did not express skepticism. During the call, the pranksters claimed that Germany was preparing to collaborate with Israel and the United States in potential military actions against Iran, including bombing Tehran or targeting regime assets. They suggested enhancing coalition support and supplying Taurus missiles.
Pahlavi responded favorably, stating that 'the more members in this coalition, the better,' indicating that broader involvement would help prevent the US and Israel from appearing isolated. He praised Germany’s 'firm stance' and expressed his willingness to 'fill the vacuum' and assume leadership once the Iranian regime falls and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is neutralized. He also referenced previous discussions with American and Israeli officials and expressed appreciation for what he perceived as Merz’s strong position.
The clip quickly circulated online, attracting widespread ridicule from critics and supporters of the regime who questioned Pahlavi’s judgment and security measures. Even some of his supporters found the incident embarrassing for his team. Vovan and Lexus are known for their high-profile prank calls targeting politicians and public figures globally.
