Tragic Shooting in Balochistan
Karachi: In a tragic incident in Pakistan's Balochistan province, three individuals lost their lives and two others sustained injuries when unidentified assailants opened fire in a Pashtun-majority area, as reported by local police.
The shooting occurred late Saturday in the Masezai region of the Killa Abdullah district, which is known for its tribal social structure and is situated approximately 60 kilometers northwest of Quetta, the provincial capital.
In response to the violence, local tribesmen took to the streets on Sunday, blocking the main Quetta-Chaman Highway, a crucial route linking Karachi, Quetta, and Chaman, to express their outrage over the incident.
According to Abdul Saboor, the Superintendent of Police for Killa Abdullah district, negotiations are ongoing with the protesters, who are demanding the arrest of the gunmen responsible for the attack.
The tribesmen have declared that they will not proceed with the burial of the deceased nor will they clear the highway until the perpetrators are apprehended and enhanced security measures are implemented in their area.
