Iran's Stance on US Conditions

Vance indicated that the US had clearly outlined its red lines to Iran, specifying which demands they were willing to accommodate and which they were not. He emphasized that Iran chose not to accept these terms, leading to the breakdown of discussions.

According to Iran's state-run Tasnim News Agency, the negotiating teams had reached a stage of exchanging texts when the US delegation introduced additional demands. A reporter from Tasnim in Islamabad noted that after face-to-face discussions between the Iranian and American delegations, they had progressed to the text exchange phase to establish a common framework for negotiations. However, the US team's repeated excessive demands hindered the process.

Vance's Comments on Iran's Rejection

When asked about which specific conditions Iran refused to accept, JD Vance refrained from providing details but reiterated that the US seeks guarantees that Iran will not pursue nuclear weapons. He stated, 'We need a firm assurance that they will not attempt to acquire nuclear weapons.'
