Summit Fire Forces Evacuations in Los Angeles County


Evacuation orders have been activated in the vicinity of Llano, located in northern Los Angeles County, following the outbreak of the rapidly spreading Summit Fire on Friday afternoon. The fire ignited near the boundary between Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties, and by 2:30 p.m., it had already consumed over 600 acres, as reported by the Los Angeles County Office of Emergency Management.


The fire is currently raging along Jesus Canyon Road, situated about 2.7 miles west of Piñon Hills, affecting regions in both counties. As of now, the fire remains uncontrolled, with no containment efforts yielding results.


Authorities have escalated previous evacuation alerts to Level 3 (Go) for the Los Angeles County evacuation zone LAC-E107. Additionally, Level 2 (Set) evacuation warnings are still in place for zones LAC-E127-A, LAC-E127-C, and LAC-E1340. Residents are advised to prepare for increased traffic on Pearblossom Highway and Highway 138 as the evacuation process unfolds.
