Trump Shares AI-Generated Video Mocking Critics on Social Media
Trump's Controversial AI Video
Former US President Donald Trump recently posted a peculiar AI-generated video on his Truth Social account, portraying himself as a physician diagnosing his critics with what he calls "Trump Derangement Syndrome" (TDS). This term is frequently used to characterize opposition to his presidency. The 90-second video features a deepfake version of Trump dressed in a lab coat, presenting a fictional "treatment plan" while ridiculing his detractors.
In the clip, several well-known critics, such as Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O’Donnell, Robert De Niro, Julia Roberts, Edward Norton, and John Leguizamo, are manipulated to appear as if they support the so-called remedy.
The video opens with "Donald J Trump, MD" stating, "Have you or someone you know been diagnosed with TDS? The symptoms can be relentless. Fortunately, I'm Dr. Trump, and I have a treatment plan." It then showcases fictional patients discussing how TDS has impacted their lives, implying they found relief after following Trump's guidance. In another part of the video, the AI-generated Trump remarks, "I really wasn't sure I could help some of these people. They were so far gone."
The video concludes with the AI-generated Trump encouraging viewers to "turn off fake news" and take a moment to relax. This isn't the first time Trump has shared AI-generated content on his platform; earlier this month, he posted a military-themed AI image depicting himself on a naval ship, captioned "YOU'RE GETTING DISCOMBOBULATED." This marks the second instance of Trump sharing such content amid the ongoing conflict in Iran. Previously, he released an AI video of himself tossing comedian Stephen Colbert into a dumpster.
