Washington DC: On Tuesday, Donald Trump asserted that Iran has provided the United States with a "very big present," which he characterized as a "significant prize" valued at a "tremendous amount of money." This statement pertains to the Strait of Hormuz, a vital passage for oil and gas shipments that has been closed since the onset of the conflict on February 28, leading to a regional oil crisis. Trump suggested that this 'gift' is connected to oil and gas, stating, "They gave us a present, and the present arrived today. It was a very big present worth a tremendous amount of money," he told reporters. He emphasized its significance, calling it a "very significant prize."

Reports indicate that this gift may involve the sale of oil, specifically 140 barrels of Iranian oil that have been stranded due to the ongoing war, as noted by Al Jazeera. The Strait of Hormuz is crucial, facilitating about 20% of global oil shipments daily.
