Casualties Rise Amid Ongoing Conflict

Beirut: The Lebanese Health Ministry reported on Wednesday that the ongoing conflict has resulted in the deaths of 1,094 individuals in Lebanon due to Israeli airstrikes since the outbreak of hostilities.

In the last 24 hours alone, 22 people lost their lives.

Among the deceased are at least 121 children and 81 women, according to the ministry's statement.

Additionally, 153 individuals were reported injured in the past day, bringing the total number of wounded to 3,119.

Earlier in the day, mourners gathered in Tyre, a coastal city in southern Lebanon, to pay their respects to a paramedic who was killed in an Israeli airstrike.

Ahmed Ibrahim Deeb, a first responder with the civil defense team linked to the Amal Movement, a Shiite political party allied with Hezbollah, was killed while riding his motorcycle to his post.

He was struck in his hometown of Shohour, located east of Tyre.

Due to the ongoing conflict, he was laid to rest in a temporary grave, as holding funerals in certain areas has become perilous.

Alwan Sharafeddine, a spokesperson for Amal, remarked, "He was one of the young men from the town who refused to be displaced and insisted on remaining steadfast on their land."

The health ministry also noted that since the resurgence of conflict between Israel and Hezbollah on March 2, 42 paramedics have been killed.
