A tragic stampede occurred early Tuesday in Jordan's capital, resulting in one fatality and eight injuries, according to reports from the state news agency. A large crowd had gathered in central Amman at Hashemite Plaza to watch the World Cup match between Algeria and Jordan on large screens. As the number of attendees increased, the situation escalated, leading to a crush that injured nine individuals, who were subsequently taken to the hospital.
